Independent Streak Music is pleased to have produced and made available the following albums for your enjoyment. The first, "Very Merry Christmas Songs," is a benefit holiday album, featuring classic Christmas music performed by Katie & Tanya Alexander. The second, "Keep the Fight," was produced as a Relay For Life benefit album, and features two luminaria ceremony songs performed by Katie & Tanya Alexander, the title track an original piece. Other albums are currently in production, so please check back for updates.

Independent Streak Music is an independent studio which currently features two independent artists and a youth band, and offers support to other musicians and groups as requested, with past involvement ranging widely from mentoring and advice to promotional and production assistance. We assist fellow local musicians in promoting themselves and enjoying the process of creating and sharing their music.

katie alexander

While Katie has been singing since she was four, she began studying voice 2004. While young in years, her voice and on-stage poise make her a natural and well-rounded performer. Past performance venues include local seasonal events, talent showcases, county fairs, musical theatre productions and cabaret productions, as well as singing the National Anthem at other events. Katie has also competed in local fairs; she was awarded Best of Show/Tiny Talent for two years and Best of Show/Junior Talent for two years at the Cloverdale Citrus Fair, and has performed at larger county fairs. Most recently, Katie has been working with The Outlaws, a local youth rock band, as lead vocalist and occasional drummer - they just took 2nd in the adult group category at the 2009 Citrus Fair, and she took a 1st ribbon in the junior talent category. She continues her voice studies, and is currently studying drums, guitar and piano. Her musical taste varies widely from alternative rock to Broadway. She enjoys performing and listening to a variety of types of music.

tanya alexander

While always wanting to pursue music, it wasn't until about six years ago that Tanya began her studies, and dove headfirst into the process. Working with a professional vocal teacher, Tanya worked on building technique, control and confidence, trying to find that delicate balance between panic and performing. She applied her technical skills to creating a digital recording studio, and began putting together her songbook of originals. She's invested a lot of time the last few years learning and studying, improving on performances, recording techniques and songwriting, as well as enjoyed working on a variety of benefit recording projects. She's also worked as a lead and backup vocalist for a couple of local bands, and has worked on stage productions doing anything and everything, from makeup, costuming and sets to directing and choreography. She's worked with other musicians and groups along the way on all aspects of performing, particularly in promotions. She's also currently in production on an original album project, while continuing her studies of voice, guitar and piano.

the outlaws

The Outlaws are a local youth rock cover band from Cloverdale, comrpised of the following members:

Guitar: Daniel Townsend
Bass: Linday Smith
Drums: Logan Smith

The Outlaws have performed at several local venues, including the Harvest Festival, the Street Celebration, the Key Club Dinner of Talents (where they took People's Choice the past two years), and most recently at the 2009 Cloverdale Citrus Fair Talent Show, taking 2nd place in the adult group category.
